Tegavah

Today is our last round of golf.  It would take almost an hour to get there so we were on the road again by 6:15.  We drove to Tegavah Golf Course (formerly known as Vista Verdi).  The course didn't appear to be fully established.  The main golf room was like a trailer.  While on the course they had porta potty's for washrooms.  The views were beautiful still.  At least we didn't have cart path rules this game.  This was not a course we would choose to do over again but it was still fun to play golf.  Afterwards we didn't stay for lunch.  We headed off to TPC and enjoyed a beer and glass of wine there while watching people come in on the 9th hole.

Next we went to Best Buy to return a camera remote which didn't work with our camera.  There was a Staples beside us where we printed our boarding passes for the next day.  We then went to Starbucks for a coffee.  When we were done coffee we did a bit of a walk around by the Tempe Marketplace but we didn't find much there.

Once we were home we got our golf bags ready to go home and we did a bit of laundry (always nice when you don't have to do that when you get home).  We went back to Grayhawk for dinner as we enjoyed sitting around the fire.  The moon was full so we took some pictures of the moon.  Grace taught me how to focus in on the moon with my camera and take some nice pictures of the moon.

We came home and started our packing.  Tomorrow we hope to go out and enjoy a nice breakfast.

Waiting in line!!

We-ko-pa and South Mountain

Up again at 5:30.  We ate breakfast and were off by 6:15.  Today we golfed at We-ko-pa.  It was amazing how much you remembered about the course and how much you forgot.  I really enjoyed the wild life we saw today.  There were lots of  roadrunners on this course.  What I found the most exciting was when we were at one of the tee boxes we saw a lone coyote.  To bad none of us had our cameras with us at the time.    At another time Grace and I had a lizard like the logo of Troon North run across the path in front of us but hid in the bushes before we could get a picture as well.  Played better than yesterday but still not my best.

After golf we took a ride to South Mountain.  We were told the views from the top were awesome.  We were able to drive most of the way up the mountain but parts were closed due to monsoons in August.  Afterwards we went back to the condo to see if we could find a nicer place to have dinner.  We decided to go to Houston's tonight.

Dinner was awesome.  The food was delicious.  We had some fun enjoying a wonderful meal out at Houston's.  Afterwards we enjoyed a quick drink, made lunches for tomorrow and went to bed.

Troon North Pinnacle Course and a Walk through Carefree

Today we were lucky enough to have a tee time almost an hour later than yesterday.  We went to Troon North and played the Pinnacle Course.  This course was a tough course to play and one that i did not play well at all.  Still enjoyed it though.  Lawrence, Grace and Ralph really liked this course but I liked yesterday's course a bit better.  It was a very narrow course and we lost a fair amount of balls on this one.  The group ahead of us saw a Bobcat.  Would have been neat to see that.  The grass around the bunkers (which there was a lot us) was very soft and you sunk down in it.  All in all a do-over for Grace, Ralph and Lawrence.  After golf we took a trip into Carefree.  Was a little disappointing this time as nothing was happening in town and it was almost like a lot of shops were closed.  We went to the library where they had a little area set up that you could walk and see some spectacular views of the mountains.

We did a bit of shopping as some of us were getting short on golf balls.  We also picked up some dinner at the grocery store with the thought of watching a movie that Ralph had bought.  We tried to put the movie in but the DVD player wouldn't accept the movie.  We ended up doing a bit of laundry, updating our blogs and watching some TV.  Life sure is good here!!

Legend Trail Golf and a Hockey Game

This morning we had to get up extra early because we had a 7:12 tee off time.  Today we went to Legend Trail.  I really enjoyed this course.  It was very challenging.  Didn't do so well on the first nine but improved on the back nine.  The scenery around us was beautiful.  This would definitely be a do-over course for me.  We haven't seen much wild life.  Only bunnies on a lot of the holes.  Afterwards we enjoyed a glass of wine and beer together and ate our lunch.

We headed off to Glendale where we were going to enjoy a hockey game between the Leafs and Coyotes.  We were early enough that we could go to the Tanger Outlet Mall.  There was not a lot at this mall that kept us there for a long period of time.  We enjoyed a coffee afterwards at Starbucks and than headed off to where the arena is.  We had dinner at the Yard House.  The servings were huge.  If you looked around the restaurant we were amazed at how many leaf jerseys we saw.  We arrived in the arena and did some walking around to see what they all had.  We were told we were allowed to go to the bottom of the stairs and take some pictures while the teams were warming up.  It was fun to be there even though the leafs didn't play well at all.  It was like they struggled with the puck as it was bouncing a lot on the ice and the leafs were falling fairly frequently.  The leafs lost this game 3-2.  It was still fun to be there.  We drove home but were so tired, we went straight to bed.  Sorry for the delay in this blog.
Enjoyed looking at the cotton fields again.
