The Dunes Members Club
Today we golfed at the Dunes Members Club. We got there and we were about the only ones there. We almost started out on hole 10 instead of 1 because the course is not really mapped out very well. Ralph had an amazing game and came very close to a hole in one. The rest of us were on par with each other. It started to spitter through some holes and and the last 2 holes it poured. We enjoyed a bowl of soup or chili at the course and headed back to the Hotel. Grace and I went for a hot tub while Ralph did some last bits of work and Lawrence caught up on the news. In the evening we went to the early bird meal at the Gulf Stream Cafe. The meal was delicious. In the evening we decided to play a game of Big Bertha. Ralph and Lawrence each one a game. We had a draw for the prize of a $25.00 gift card from Golf Town. We drew the prize for the person with the least amount of bunker shots. Congratulations to Ralph who was the winner of this round.

Exploring Charleston and Relaxing
We slept in a little later this morning and we were up at 7:00. Grace was up earlier taking sunrise pictures. Even though I had a longer sleep I still had problems keeping my eyes open in the car while driving. We listened to a sermon from Rev. Lankheet while heading to Charleston. We saw some of our old haunts and then decided to have some lunch at Sesame Burgers and Beer. It took us three locations to find the restaurant but it was definitely worth the find. We were going to go to a Boone Hall Plantation but we got some rain and figured with the rain it was better to head home as Ralph had some work to do. Once we got back Ralph started working and Grace, Lawrence and I headed to the beach to check out the water. We saw a lot of Jelly Fish along the shore line. The waves were awesome. Grace was practicing taking different types of pictures on her camera. We had an easy meal at our room tonight and watched a movie. We saw Big Miracle with Drew Barrymore about freeing 3 trapped whales. The movie was enjoyable.

Tradition and Loretta Lynn
We started our morning out early again. We were up by 5:30 and headed for breakfast just after 6:00. It started out a little foggy this morning. We drove to Tradition for our first round of golf. The day was absolutely gorgeous and on the verge of getting hot around lunch time. Didn't play so great this round but was getting better towards the end of the game. There is some sort of Motocycle thing happening in town as they are everywhere. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a placed called Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Crab Cakes located in Garden City Beach. I was struggling today to keep my eyes open. When we came home I had a short nap. We went to see Loretta Lynn tonight. For a lady in her 80's she looked amazingly well. The concert was about an hour and a half. Afterwards we had some dinner at Wild Wings. It will be an early night tonight.

We Have Arrived
We started the day a little later than expected. We slept in until around 6:45 and were on the road around 7:30. We had a quick breakfast at the hotel, loaded up the car and were on our way again. We drove through some fog patches along the way. We stopped at the Total Wine store in Charlotte but found out they only sold wine and beer there. We will remember this for next time. We also checked out some cotton fields. Then we headed straight to Myrtle Beach. In the last 1/2 hour of our drive we ran into some traffic and it took a bit longer to get to the Hotel. We arrived around 4:45. We are here, yippee!! We unpacked and enjoyed a glass of wine all together. Even the guys enjoyed some wine with us in their beer glass as none of the beer was cold. We decided to eat along Pier 14 tonight and enjoyed some fish. After dinner we headed to the Grocery store and now we are relaxing before heading off to bed. It is so nice to sit and listen to the waves come rolling in.

Myrtle Beach 2013
Whohoo, we are on our way. I worked right until the last minute, logged my time, shut down my computer and headed with Lawrence to Grace and Ralph's. We met up with Mom and Betsy and gave them instructions on how to use the car. By 12:30 we headed to Tim's for a coffee and were on our way. Traffic was fairly smooth and we only waited about 15 minutes at the border. All went smoothly. We arrived at th Hampton Hotel in Summersville around 9:15 and relaxed with a drink. Grace surprised Ralph with a special Apron. I think he is going to have a great holiday.

The Gables
What a fast week. Today is Friday already and we played the Gables today. It was right beside the Anne of Green Gables village. We could see Anne's house as we played the course. The guys saw a fox today on the course while yesterday the ladies had seen a fox on the course. (forgot to mention that in yesterdays blog). We played 18 holes plus 9 more. We were all set to go home and get ready for our Lobster Tour and it started to pour. It ended up getting cancelled on us so we went out for dinner at Shaw's Restaurant. This place is a historic place and has been around for 146 years. After dinner we went home and enjoyed a drink together as this was our last night together. Tomorrow we will play our last round of golf at Anderson's Creek and than we have to allow Tony and Arja to pack as they are flying home.

Glasgow Hills
Today we played Glasgow Hills. It was again a very scenic course with challenging greens. I borrowed a club from John and it made my game much more enjoyable, as I was able to keep up with the ladies again. Funny how a change of club can make such a difference. When we finished the round, Grace and Ralph and Lawrence and I decided to do some site seeing, instead of playing another round. John and Grace and Tony and Arja stayed to play another one. We went to visit the Cheese Place and checked out some of the lighthouses along the shoreline. The views were beautiful and well worth taking the time away from golfing.
We enjoyed a nice meal of roast, potatoes and cauliflower and carrots. Yummy!! In the evening I took the time to update my blog as I had been behind a few days.
