Full Day Today

What an exciting day today.  We were up at 6:00 and headed next store to the restaurant for breakfast at 6:30. Today we golfed at Beachwood Golf Course.  When we got there we were ahead of the team scheduled before us so we were told we could tee off right away. No warm up today.   My golf has not been great lately so overall I was pleased with my game. The weather has been gorgeous so it made it more fun to play.  We saw a hawk on the course and our usual Egrets and Herons.

After golf we did some shopping. We found our favourite Chico store and did well there.

We headed to Pawleys Island where we bought some meat to cook for tomorrow's supper. At breakfast time we heard the waitress mention a restaurant called The Rustic Table. We happened to drive by it and thought it might be get be a good place to eat.   We were not disappointed. Lawrence and I ordered the meatloaf. I'm sure one meal could have fed us both and the taste was delicious Leftovers for lunch.  Grace enjoyed some Pecan Crusted Flounder on her salad.

We are spending the evening watching a movie tonight and putting our feet up after enjoying a nice hot tub.

Ralph won our first mini competition but not by much.  Today was aiding up all your par fours plus your putts. Ralph had 81 and Lawrence 83.  Grace wasn't far behind and Teresa had fun. Great start to the week.

We have Arrived!!

After a broken sleep (must be the excitement), morning finally came.  We had packed our bags and loaded the car and then had a quick breakfast.  We were on the road by 8:00 am. We had a 3 1/2 hour drive to get to Myrtle Beach.  The trip went very quickly.  We enjoyed the sun's rays streaming through a few clouds.  We arrived to early to get our room so we went for lunch at The Grilled Cheese and Crab Cakes Company.  What a way to start our time in Myrtle Beach.  Yummy.  We checked out a few stored and could finally go to the hotel and get our room.  Bags are in the room and we relaxed on the Balcony listening to the ocean waves.  How awesome to relax this way.  They put up a red flag warning people not to go in the water due to the currents.  We had expected the water to be higher than what it was.  The beaches were busy with people.

For dinner tonight we went to The Carolina Ale House.  This is a new restaurant not to far from the hotel.  They had one of the best salads I have enjoyed in a long time.  It was a Chicken Apple Walnut Salad that also had Cucumber and dried cranberries in it with a Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing.  Will certainly go back there to eat again.

We have come back to the hotel finishing off unloading our suitcases, packing our lunch for tomorrow and loading up our golf bags.  We are all set for tomorrows round which starts at 7:52.  Looking forward to our first round of golf.

Underneath each of these cards is our challenge for the day which we will draw after we have played our game of golf and whoever wins the challenge gets a giftcard from Golf Town.  Adding a little excitement to our game.

Off to Myrtle Beach again

Here we go again.  Can't believe it has been a year ago when we got evacuated from Myrtle Beach. Two years in a row we had floods and we are hoping that this year will not be the same.  We were on the road by 5:00 am and had a smooth ride to Archdale North Carolina where we are staying at the Hampton Inn.  We arrived at approximately 6:30 pm with a temperature of 31 degrees.   We got settled in our room, enjoyed a quick drink and went to Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery for dinner.  Dinner was ok but not a place we would race back to.  Tomorrow we have a short drive of approximately 4 hours to get to our resort. We have been busy planning things to do and look forward to our rounds of golf.   My camera got packed away in the car so hopefully I will be taking more pictures in the following week.
